There are so many.

An objection to success and wealth.

The desire to do what is wanted in the moment despite the long term consequences of the choice.

Shoulds. A billion people on the planet have no interest in acquiring wealth. That is a personal choice that we all make.

Life goals. What you hope to accomplish may not include wealth or the accumulation of it.

Deserving nature. Some people feel that they are undeserving of the things that society states that we "should" do or have.

Moral or ethical objections to greed and selfishness.

Concern for change. Often accomplishing those goals means that our lives will change. Change is often perceived as a negative.

Hopelessness. Some people do not see hope for the future so that saving for it is then pointless.

It is human nature. At the moment the world is enjoying economic prosperity due to China's consumption. This wasn't even on the radar eight years ago. Everything is cyclical and this is not unlike the 'roaring Twenties', until the finance merchants lose their nerve, we will continue to believe that we haven't reached the pinnacle of the 'boom'.

they must think they need the money now more than they will later. in today's society, most people live for the now and don't care about the effects of the now upon their future.

I do not want any leftover. I can not imagine dying with all these millions of pennies in a jar and not having had any fun.

maybe.... so just in case they have "rainy days"
just in case u never know
or they might just save it in case they see something or want something that they really want and they have the money to buy it
