I like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wayy better. It's soooo cool. The effects are awesome and the scenery is seriously out of this world. I think it is also more up to date and a little more fun. It also has a better story then the other one I think. :]

their both good for their own reasons. I like the Old one because it brings back childhood memories of wanting to find a golden ticket in a candy bar and seeing the factory myself.
The new one rocks because of the update effects and the provided backstory which we were all wondering about. Also in the new one Grandpa Joe isn't so shady. He's not trying to get Charlie to steal the soda and he's not all snooty and rude.

Well in my honest opinion, the new movie was made to be more in synch with todays humor style which I can appreciate. The old movie was an okay movie in it's day (along with the new one) but it follows the story line better although Ronald Dahl didn't like how it turned out. I prefer the new movie although the old can certainly be considered a classic.

I loved the old one! When you see it for the first time, it stirs up the imagination! The second one, was kind of cheesy, BUT it was a little more modern, so I can see why kids now would like it. Maybe its just a generation thing. In the new one, however, the squirrels are my favorite part!

The old one for sure. The new one only had the one guy playing the oompa loompas. Plus Gene Wilder was perfect as Willy Wonka.

The old version for Gene Wilder, nostalgia, and "I said good day sir!". It also comes off as more of a classic than the other. I feel like we'll be showing the 1971 version to kids long after the other.

Like most movies that are remakes, I always like the original version.

I loved the original it was one of my favorite movies but the new one stinks to high heaven, I absolutely hated it, I couldn't even watch more than a couple minuets of it.

I feel the same way about the producers too.

The old one for sure...in the new one Johnny Depp looked like he should be on Dateline's To Catch a Predator...I was SCRRRRD! j/k, but seriously, he was freaky

the old one was way better because the guy playing Willy Wonka in the new one is really creepy
