If so, was it fun? annoying? Did the horse behave? lol! I went once a long time ago and it wasn't bad.

yep, my neighbours had horses so I'd always take them!

they behaved well. I've only fallen off once and it was my fault while I was getting off.

Hmm... What to expect? This varies from stable to stable. Some stables will teach a first timer how to catch a horse from the field, (if the stables has one), groom them, tack (put on saddle-seat, bridle-the leather pieces on the horse's heads during riding), and how to lead a horse properly. Safety is also taught, like how to approach a horse, (Not from direct front or direct back), behaviour around horses, and things like that. Some stables may not teach you this as a first timer, you may just be taught in the arena where you ride. You may just be taught how to ride, and none of the above. For riding you will learn how to mount a horse, how to sit (including how to hold reins), walk around, and relax, and not tense up. You will be lead around on a leading rein for your first time, so you will not be controlling the horse yourself-you will if you carry on learning riding, however. You may have a little trot if you are comfortable enough, and if the instructor gives the Okay. Some stables will also show you how to untack, (taking off all the riding equipment from the horse), and you may also be able to lead the horse back to the field if deemed neccessary, and you are comfortable with it. If this is your first time, then I presume you will not have bought the equipment. -If so, then you will be fitted with an approved riding hat-(approved by societies such as the British Horse Society-which means the hats Should be safe), and maybe some boots, if you have not yet bought your own. Some suggestions would be not to have your hair in fancy styles, especially not a high pony-tail, as this will make your hat uncomfortable or unable to put on. -A low ponytail is good if your hair is long. Don't be nervous, and listen to the instructor, relax and enjoy yourself, afterall-this is your first time riding a horse! :D If you feel uncomfortable with anything, just tell someone, and any questions, don't be afraid to ask-you learn faster this way. ^^ If you come out of the lesson with a sore bottom, don't let that worry you-after a little while you'll get used to riding, and that'll vanish. Anyways, I hope your lesson goes well, and that you have fun! :D Remember, this is your first lesson, and if it doesn't go as well as you may have wanted it, give it another shot, give it another chance, because this may be the beginning of a life-long commitment and something you'll look forward to each time! Oh, P.S, you can always look up a little about riding to help you during your first lesson, that way, you may feel a little more comfortable-since you know some things already, and the information wouldn't be alien to you. :) Any questions, just email, and I'll get back to you. :) Good luck! XD ...LOL, wow, that was a long answer...! XD

Yes! I love it so much. Me and my friends go to a horseback riding camp every year. Most of the horses behave but if you're an experienced rider, you get stuck with one of the bad behaved ones. But I think it's a lot of fun =)

It's fun! I went to a horseback riding camp when I was little and we got our own horses for the 2 weeks. We had to take care of them and feed them and everything. I love horseback riding... as long as the horse behaves. :)

Yes. I had a horse many years ago. Most of the time, he behaved himself. So, riding was fun for the most part. It takes some getting used to if you haven't done it before.

After 30 years I recently started riding again. The 'orrible mare threw me off and I'm on codeine and physio. My head screams and my shoulder has limited movement. When I'm better I shall be right back on the horse though!! Brilliant fun although it is a dangerous sport according to the insurers.
