Sorry dude, wasn't the Ramones. Unless the Ramones did a cover of this song (they might have I'm not sure) I don't know why you would think of them. Oh well, it doesn't matter I'm here to answer your question. The original song was written and performed by Creedence Clearwater Revival, more commonly known as CCR. This is an awesome band that I highly recommend listening too. They were heavily influenced by Bayou Rock and have a cool and unique sound. In case you were wondering they were together back in the late 60s and early 70s. John Fogerty was the lead singer and went on to have a fairly successful solo career. I would pick up the first Chronicle CD, no matter what the price it is worth it.
