Most cars are shipped in car-transporter ships, not in containers.
Think of these ships as giant car-ferries, but with the usual passenger facilities (cabins, seats, bars, restaurants, shops etc.) replaced by additional car decks.
Prototype or concept cars (for testing or show purposes) and styling models are usually shipped in individual wooden crates. They are sometimes air-freighted if time constraints apply.
