I am not sure what you mean by a bad financial situation but here are a couple of suggestions.
One thing you can do is apply at your bank or credit union for a secured credit card. These cards work like a regular credit card (they have a limit and you are required to make monthly payments) the difference is they are backed by money you place in a special account. The bank therefore is covered or "secured" by this money. In the event you do not have the funds needed for a secured card, you might want to consider a sub-prime loan.
These loans are designed for individuals lacking the desired collateral and for borrowers with poor credit. But be careful. Sub-prime loans are very expensive, carrying higher than average interest rates. So only apply for one if you really need the money.

depending in what state you had the divorce you could ask for spousal support in the case of financial stress.There are provisions in many states that about divorce so that it wont destroy the parting parties finances.

well I don't advoacte payday loans but there are a lot of companies out there that do them, or even a car title loan.
