~~~ My motto: "It's never too late for a positive change",would be put to the test. If it worked during all those lies I believed in, it should really work now. Or not. Some things,I would just laugh about and say...."It figures!" ~~~
If I woke up tomorrow and found out everything I believed was a lie after my head stopped careening and reeling from the startling awakening! It may be difficult to believe that everything I believed was a complete and total lie.
Fortunately I am a flexible person and as such I would have no problem in seeking out the truth!
Reminds me of 'The Truman Show'. Man's indomitable spirit and ability to change would insure that me and everyone else would carry on. Well, all except those who are intransigent and have closed minds.
I think that life is constantly changing, certainly this is a very Buddhist thought. What is truth today does and will change tomorrow. Even religion changes - well, the doctrinal ones do.
Governments spew out propaganda so we are told what to believe, but accept when 'new' thinking comes along to tell us that we were lied to (McCarthy, Iraq).
My parents told me that there was a tooth fairy and that Father Christmas came down our chimney - I got over it and then lied to my own kids who also got over it.....!
Man I've gone through that same thing soooo many times now. That I have completely lost my mind, and even wrose, my heart, and even worse then that? my spirit.
I am so tired of my happiness misguided.
I get up and function as best as I can. And hope this feeling will pass. In your case I hope you've not experienced this to often, or the consiquence to high. If not your in luck. You will do better this time. Good luck
You see, I'm pretty content with the very good odds that everything I believe in is a lie, so being of a cynic.... I wouldn't be that surprised...
Hey. What makes you think that what you perceived as a lie, is a lie? Isn't your perception always changing? A "lie" today is the truth tomorrow. The truth today is a lie tomorrow? Do you know what is an ABSOLUTE truth or a lie? Does ANYBODY?
This happened to me in a way. It took me about two years of really intense depression, meds and counseling, but I came out of it, and am now a much stronger and happier person. It has taken me a long time, but I have let it all go. Why dwell on it? I have so much more in my life that makes me happy. :)
I'd probably spend some time whining about it - and then I'd get my act together and start over with the new information. I'd hope that it would be something like - chocolate is really not fattening or exercise is dangerous! *s* I'd be happy to be wrong about those things....
Id probably wonder why I didn't see this coming and breakdown. Then after the Prozac kicks in, I will look for something else to believe in.
I'd smile and look forward tothe remainder of the day.
One that begins in such a way ought to be a communist until around noon.
