I have a seperater and I'm going to seperate it when it is ready but can I breed it

no you cant breed bettas in a community tank, the problem is that the other fish can interfer and the male betta can go crazy attacking the other fish while watching the babies.

Another reason, if you did any research, you would know that betta breeding should never be done with gravel. all breeding tanks on true professionals are bare, and bare for a reason.

You should do more research before breeding, that is a very simple question, please dont take offense to that, but frankly if your asking those questions you need more research.

No, you need to set up a specific tank to breed bettas. It also takes a few weeks of conditioning for both the male and female.

first you have to determine male from female. You put male in seperated area first. If he wants to mate, he will build a bubble nest. You take the male out and put the female in. She lays eggs and puts them into the nest. You take female out and put male in and he fertilizes the eggs. Then you take him out and keep them both away from the eggs, even after they hatch. They will eat their young.
