Should we resurrect the music to keep it real?Song: Fighting Side Of Me Tab

The Fightin' Side Of Me
Written and performed by Merle Haggard
c1970 Tree Publishing C., Inc.

Verse 1:
D A7
I hear people talking bad about the way they have to live here in this country.
D
Harpin' on the wars we fight gripin' 'bout the way things ought to be.
A7
I don't mind them switchin' sides and standin' up for things they beleive in,

When they're runnin' down our country man,
D
They're walkin' on The Fightin' Fide Of Me.

Chorus
A7 D A7
They're walkin' on The Fightin' Side Of Me.
A G D
Runnin' down a way of life our fightin' men have fought and died to keep,

If you don't love it, leave it,
D7 G
Let this song that I'm singin' be a warnin',
A7
When you're runnin' down our country (hoss - 1st // man - 2d)
D
You're walkin' on The Fightin' Side Of Me.

Verse 2:

I read about some squirley guy
Who claims that he just don't beleive in fightin',
And I wonder just how long the rest of us can count on bein' free.
They love our milk and honey but they preach about some other way of livin',
When they're runnin' down our country man
They're walkin' on The Fightin' Side Of Me.

Chorus

The 3 biggest similarities: The press was against the war & the rules of engagement. The press daily saying we can't win encouraged defeatism. The Rules of engagement said you couldn’t fight to win. The US government lost the P.R. war both here & abroad.

Police action at best one can fight to a stalemate. More people die & the war last longer.

Actually dumbya's quagmire reminds me of when his daddy was in office and went to war. This song from 1992 rings true today as well.

Wargasm

by L7

album: Bricks Are Heavy (1992)

Wargasm Wargasm, one two three
Tie a yellow ribbon 'round the amputee
Masturbate, watch it on TV
Crocodile tears for the refugee

Wargasm Wargasm, one two three
smutty bloody pictures, ecstasy
Blue balls waiting impatiently
From Alcatraz to Lady Liberty.

Body bags and dropping bombs,
The pentagon knows how to turn us on.
Wargasm Wargasm, one two three
People, people, ecstasy
wave those flags high in the air
As long as it takes place over there.

Wargasm
Wargasm
Wargasm
Wargasm

Body bags and dropping bombs,
the pentagon knows how to turn us, turn us on
Wargasm
Turn us on
Wargasm

Liberals, bless their little hearts, just aren't the smartest people around, are they? That's why they compare every war with Vietnam (which they can't locate on a map) and every politician they don't like with Hitler (whose politics, beyond extermination of the Jews, is a complete mystery to them).

It has become stylish to bash the U.S., but I'd like people who denigrate America to point out a better country on planet Earth.

Here is a song by RUSH that perfectly explains the American character. All things considered, you'd have to admit that America is a great nation.

NEW WORLD MAN ---- by RUSH

He's a rebel and a runner
He's a signal turning green
He's a restless young romantic
Wants to run the big machine

He's got a problem with his poisons
But you know he'll find a cure
He's cleaning up his systems
To keep his nature pure

Learning to match the beat of the Old World man
Learning to catch the heat of the Third World man

He's got to make his own mistakes
And learn to mend the mess he makes
He's old enough to know what's right
But young enough not to choose it
He's noble enough to win the world
But weak enough to lose it -

He's a New World man...

He's a radio receiver
Tuned to factories and farms
He's a writer and arranger
And a young boy bearing arms

He's got a problem with his power
With weapons on patrol
He's got to walk a fine line
And keep his self-control

Trying to save the day for the Old World man
Trying to pave the way for the Third World man

He's not concerned with yesterday
He knows constant change is here today
He's noble enough to know what's right
But weak enough not to choose it
He's wise enough to win the world
But fool enough to lose it -

He's a New World man...

Excuse me, whyare, but your leader dodged the war and was AWOL from the Alabama Air National Guard.Viet Nam
was started under what we now know was false accusations too. The similarities are shockingly close. John Kerry the poster child of us "Libtards" severed his country proudly, he did not hide under daddie's skirt like W did.

We don't need to "resurrect" old music. We have plenty of contemporary music that plays on the radio all day.

All we can do is watch fox news and listen to hate radio until the war on terror is over.
