If liquid displays are made from liquid crystals, so then can they dry out over time?

LCD's ( liquid crystal displays ) use the same technology as LCD Watches (Digital). But watches only have a few segments, LCD diplays have millions. so a fault on 1 or 2 is not uncommon.

It is common for a few pixels to fail after several years. But they dont dry out.
