5x + 7y = b
mx + y = 22

(-3,4) means
x = -3
y = 4

5x + 7y = b
substitute the value of x and y to solve the above equation for b

5(-3) + 7(4) = b
b = -15 + 28
b = 13

mx + y = 22
substitute the value of x and y to solve the above equation for m
m(-3) + 4 = 22
-3m = 22 - 4
-3m = 18
m = -6

So b = 13 and
m = -6

Plug in x = -3, y =4 into the equations shown.

(5)(-3) + (7)(4) = b
from which b = -15 + 28 = 13

m(-3) + 4 = 22
from which m = (22-4) / (-3) = -6

(-3,4) = (x,y)
subst 5 x -3 + 7 x 4 = b = 13
m x -3 + 4 = 22
-3m = 22 - 4
-3m = 18
m = 18/-3
m = -6

substitute (-3,4)
5(-3) + 7(4) = b
b= 13

-3 m +4 = 22
3 m = -18
m = - 6
b = 13
