You don't have to be married to a U.S. national to obtain a resident visa for the U.S. Check with the U.S. Embassy Consular Affairs section in Stockholm or one of the U.S. consulates in other Swedish cities.

Are you already in the US? If yes, either student or tourist but not for Illegal Alien.

let just say you are attending one of the university in US.
First of all find a job which employer is willing to give you a sponsor, size of the business doesn't count as long as they are Tax payer.

If the employer said yes, then find a immigration lawyer and have about $ 3500 in your hand. Lawyer fee is about $ 2500 (it may vary) Document fee to USCIS (United State Citizenship and Immigration Services) is $ 1000.

If you completed with those steps then you have to choose from two options either a or b.
a.) you will get a work permit for 3 years and after that you are eligible to apply a green card.
b.) you will get a work permit for 5 years but you are ineligible to apply a green card which mean you'll have to go back to your country.

I hope this information will help you to understand that there are possibilities to get permanence resident status without marrying a us citizen. You should visit to this web site too
