I know this will prompt all kinds of synical replies, and at the risk of promoting some conspiracy theories, but this is just a "what if" question. Nothing more..nothing less.

What if: we find out WMD were actually in Iraq as the intel suggested, and simply sold to Iran to prevent the US from finding them in that country?
What if we find this information to be fact in say...10 years. Will that make Bush look more "presidential"?
Will it make Democrats look foolish for flip-flopping?..Make republicans more foolish for not finding it out for 10 years?

I happen to think it wouldnt change the views of Bush, but it would certainly help General Powell's image.

even when you forwarn that the question is simply "what if", you still sometimes get "pigs with wings fly", and "your speculation".
I'm not speculating on anything..its just "what if".
Yes, we already know about pigs with wings, and bullfrogs with wings, and if it came out your butt, and all that stuff. Learned all that in the 70's

re: lynn:....this isnt a little area that I have put all my "what ifs" in the same basket. Dont worry, when this "what if" is finished here, I will send it out to work on world peace and to hug trees and save the environment.
thanks for the concerns though!

It's not a what if, we actually have found several WMDs, ok so we haven't proven that Saddam was still making WMDs but we've got proof he was lying about destroying the WMDs that he definetly had at one time that he claimed he destroyed.

By the way there are intellegence reports on Saddam having some of the WMDs smuggled not into Iran but to Syria.

I wouldn't be suprised if any did land in Iran, although we have no proof that some did land there, but we have no proof it didn't happen either.

All I know is that Saddam did indeed have WMDs and there is evidence to prove it but when evidence was found the Democrats said "but these aren't what we were looking for."

I can guarantee you this, most of the WMDs might never been found cause a ton a probably buried places and most of the people who knew the secret locations are dead by now.

Okay, 10 years from now, if what you say comes true - I will be the first to demand that the media and the opposition party give President Bush is due respect and apologize for all this nonsense. But since we all know there is a realistic possibility this will never happen, the supporters of this current administration, 10 years from now, will need to do a lot of explanation once history judges this presidency and administration for its actions. Actions that have not only altered America's position in the world but have also sent our foreign policy efforts in the Middle East back at least 30 years.

And if pigs had wings they would fly.

Iran and Iraq hated each other before March 2003. Iraq was a Sunni state, and Iran was Shiite. They had an 8-year-long war in the 80's, during which Iraq used poison gas on the Iranian Army. (Yes, Saddam had poison gas then - but not in 2003). Do you really think Saddam would let his enemy get ahold of it if Saddam had any?

To think that Saddam would cooperate with Iran on anything is ridiculous.

Your speculation is the biggest flight of fancy and wishful thinking.

OMG. What do you mean 'What if'? The Iraqis HAD 'WMD'. They used chemical poisons on the Kurds, they used chemical poisons on the Iranians. They would not give them up under any circumstances. Certainly not to the Iranians. They hate and distrust the Iranians. The Iranians would for sure use them on the Iraqi's themselves. The lying Iraqi's have buried them somewhere. Whoever knew where is probably dead. They were working on nuclear until the Israelis blew that up. The Iraqi's would have no hesitation to use WMD's on anybody if they could find the stuff. If they are ready and willing to blow themselves up there is no way they would not use ANY deadly force in an instant on ANYbody. They are like rabid dogs.

If WMDs did exist, they surely would have fallen into the hands of the insurgents or the terrorists by now. And they wouls have surely used them, on someone, by now.
