I love it!
I watch a lot of HBO and, when I saw the trailers, I thought it might be interesting. So, I recorded the shows on DVR. A couple of weeks ago, I finally got around to watching them and I'm hooked.
The interaction between Bret and Jemaine is very funny. The songs are great. And, I love the visuals (things like the dancing salt and pepper shakers in the show's opening, and the black woman who mouths "Inner City Pressure" when the synthesized voice says it).
That whole thing with Mel, their "Fan Base" is great. Their manager Murray is a great character. And, the running joke about having a role call for band meetings (even though there's only two of them) is pretty funny.
The comedy is dry and clever. The videos and impromptu musical performances are well-timed and entertaining (that Robot video still cracks me up, even though I've seen it a dozen times).
According to the HBO website, there are 11 episodes in the first season (they've aired 5). And, I'm really looking forward to see where the show goes as the season progresses.
I also read an interview with Bret and Jemaine. They said that, even though there aren't many good TV shows produced in New Zealand, they originally pitched the idea of Flight of the Conchords to an New Zealand TV station and they rejected it. I'm glad HBO took the chance on it. It's really good.

you mean hey hey were the conchords? like it a lot. not a completely new concept but i think it is really funny and it relects an aspect of current pop culture that no other tv show has managed to capture yet.
