It is almost always an outpatient procedure. Meniscal tears are repaired with an arthroscope, which will make it easier to heal. Depending on the time of the surgery and taking into account the fact that there may be complications with your surgery or with your anesthesia (always a possibility with any surgery). you may have to stay overnight.

Truthfully, you'll be able to find out more once you get a concrete report of what is going on.

Best of luck and happy healing!

My son tore his miniscus and his surgery was outpatient and we were in and out in about 5 hours. He had laproscopic surgery and just has two tiny little scars. He was back on his feet within 3 days and has had no problems since then. Good luck!

The surgery center I used to work for always did it as an outpatient proceedure, they keep the patient under observation for several hours after surgery before releasing them to go home.
