Yes I believe the spirits can still hover around a house / building. When I worked near the Tower Hill in one of the buildings in St Katharine's Dock - I saw a woman in white (could have been a young girl) crossing the areas where the tables were. She seemed very peaceful and gracious and if you didn't see her you could feel her presence.

I once lived in a house that was so frightening I had to leave. I don't know whether or not it was haunted, but I have no rational explanation for the things that happened there. Stange noises, power cuts which always happened when one of us was in the bath, gas leaks (despite having two new systems being put in). Temperature fluctuations, even in the middle of the summer one room in the house was always freezing and my housemate had to have the heating on. One night at 3 in the morning I woke up to banging and crashing and I thought that we were being burgled so I called the police. When they arrived they found nothing apart from my cat who was hissing in the corner of the room. Things went missing all the time and turned up in weird places. Once I lost a pot of taramasalata dip and found it the next day behind the TV! Also my neighbours on both sides were always complaining about the amount of noise coming from the house. During some of these times we were all in bed and there was no music playing and the TV wasn't on. It was so scary and I found out after I had left that another housemate had also fled after hearing voices in the corner of the living room. Several years later I decided to research the house and discovered that it had been owned by a couple in the early 1900's. The Husband had murdered the wife in the bath and then shot himself in the front bedroom, so maybe that would explain why the power cuts always happened when somebody was in the bath and why the front bedroom was always freezing cold. I am still not really sure, but who knows. I guess we never will.

Yes I do believe that houses can be haunted. Most of the time the ones that are, are ones where something horrible happened (like a murder or mass murder, plauge, anything violent). But more often times it is land that spirits linger.

I live in a house that hold ghosts, but I know that it used to be old indian land and trapping land. Which probably accounts for some of the oddities that have occured.

My ex was a truck driver. He and i moved into this huge two story house. The house entrance had a hallway that connected the rest of the house together. The hallway was where the stairs were. When i first walked into the house i could tell something evil was there. Not sure how, it was a weird spooky feeling. I would never walk into the hall way unless the lights were on. It creeped me out. We never put furniture upstairs because we really didn't have enough to fill the house. Every night i could hear things dropping on the floor upstairs. Freaked me out because like i said nothing was up there. The only way i could sleep was to shut the doors to the hallway. He only was home on the weekends so a whole week went by and i was telling him what was going on and he didnt believe me. When he finally got home he started hearing it too. I never saw anything in the house but i had a vision that it was a older woman and she limped on her left leg. He always thought i was crazy because i could always sense stuff like that. You should have seen the look on his face when he talked to the landlord and asked him about the old tenets, the landlord told him it was a older woman with a bad leg! Needless to say we got out of there after that. I recently moved in with a friend of mine, same thing is happening. Only this one isn't a bad spirit, its a young girl who sits in the corner and cries alot. Haven't seen her either but i can feel her there. Wierd...... Not sure if i have a gift or a curse but it freaks me out. I only go to hospitals if i absolutely have too. Imagine everywhere u go, u pick up dead people! freaky! I can also sense when something bad is about to happen.

I used to live in an 18 century coaching yard and that place had plenty of weird stuff going on. One person had hung themselves there in the attic. The house I have now is over 100 years old and every time we do renovation work to it, strange things happen like the TV turning on and off by itself. Also had to find a new home for the dog as he hated the house from the minute we moved here and refused to come into the house. If we dragged him in, he'd cower by the back door and refuse to go any further.

yea i think so. ghosts are simply souls left in our world right?
i have a feeling when i die that i will stay at my resting place waving to people on a swing by the willow trees or just walking around were ever i might be. i hope to be aware of my self as a ghost. if i do become one and just wave to people. but as for seeing or feeling one before no. i haven't. want to though. don't know why but I'm just never been afraid of ghosts. always wanted to touch and talk to one though.

actually now that i think about it my schools haunted. and this year before school ended 2 kids and a teacher died in the last three months. one of the kids had brain Cancer. the teacher also had Cancer and the other kid hanged her self. i have heard that my school was built over a grave yard.

Yes, the house I live in at the moment is haunted, both me and my husband have seen a small child running past us on several occasions, and it has played tricks on us such as knocking things over.
It's not scary, more interesting really. Our house is 104 years old.
