Sometimes the goldfishes are very active, swimming around and stuff. Sometimes they are inactively, just floating in a corner. Does being active or inactive have anything to do with their level of hunger?

Nope, that's totally normal behavior patterns, nothing at all to worry about.

no, it has nothing to do with it, fish rest, so thats what the goldfish is doing when they are at the corners. Make sure the water isgetting properly circulated.
