I want to learn how to play guitar, but i don't know if i want to learn acoustic or electric first. Everyone say's that acoustic makes you stronger so you should learn it first, but that electric is easier to learn and you won't get bored. I like both so that doesn't really help. Any suggestions?

ok i had the same problem.......so i talked to alot of people and got the same answers every time.............you should learn acoustic first because when you get good at it then you can pick up on electric very easily and then you can play them both......and trust me if you like guitar.....then you won't get bored with acoustic.......but i definetly think you should get an acoustic first

Which ever one you like better. Your fingers will be fine with either one. A good acoustic is not that much harder to play than an electric. The only reason I would say to start with the acoustic is because you don't need anything else. No amp or cables. You can keep the guitar next to you like my Martin is right now and pick it up anytime you want without having to turn on the amp. But find a guitar you like and just play. That is the bottom line. Eventually you will end up with both anyway.

Well when i first started playing guitar i started on acoustic, and it did help in the long run to play guitar because it is a bit tougher to play sometimes then electric. but electric is fun to play but then you need to worry about anamp and al that jazz but if you play acoustic then you can pick it up any time and play it withought any worries! :)
so personally i sugest playing acoustic first!
plus its such a pretty sound.

Spend some quality time in a guitar center for a better idea in this decision.
