I am not sure what you mean by the letter f in your question? Anyway an 1836 lettered edge Bust have is worth around $40 in grade good and goes up in value as the grade gets higher to about $115 in grade extra fine. The reeded edge 1836 1/2 dollar on the other hand is worth $700 in grade good to $2,250 in grade extra fine. The above values are about what a dealer would pay. There is also a lettered edge variety that has 50 over 00 Values $60 in good to to $220 in extra fine.

I think the "f" here is the coin grade, which means that the 1836 lettered edge variety is valued at about $55. And I must say that the way you phrase your question is rather confusing, coz to collectors the "f" can be a mintmark or even a denomination.
