I did not find how to make the eyeglasses, but I did find a site (in Dutch) that has many different loop structures.
Maybe you can see how to make your frame from that. Use wire in the middle of the 'lanyard' to be able to shape it better.

All the words under 'voorbeelden' lead to samples, and ideas.

I would start at the end of one leg, (with wire in the middle), by the end of the leg, you add some more strings, one set makes the frame above the glasses, the other below, at the start of the other leg you need to loose the extra strings, looking like the start, that is the hardest part.

Alternatively, start in the middle, in the middle of your strings, add just besides the middle, on each side, for the bit below the glasses.
When you have gone round the glass, (each side,) make a bit of brick stitch, (that is this stitch, here called differently: http://www.yoarra.nl/eng/scoubidous6.php )
and take the shortest strings out after a few stitches.
Do use wire, certainly in the top bar, and also in the legs, maybe also in the bit under the glass.

Glue your glass to the frame if you are pleased with it.
