I have a daughter who is a week off 3 months - she has always been very inquisitive, from day one. She doesn't sleep much during the day and is very aware. She is always curious of her surroundings and stares at everything in wonder.

She has alot of toys, rattles, bright objects, baby-gym with different shapes, electronic play-mat that lights up and sings songs. I talk to her, read to her, sing to her, dance with her, repeat the alphabet, count to her etc. We go out and i chatter away to her pointing out different colours, objects and things etc.

What else can/should i do with her to keep her entertained - especially on cold wet and windy days (winter here) when we are kept indoors?

Thanks.

Sounds like you're already doing great. I'm glad to hear you're reading her stories. That's great. If she already has a gym and rattles....you can always pull out the tupperware and a wooden spoon.

Besides what you are doing? Nothing, let her hear your voice alot, put her in a bouncer seat or car seat and sing or talk to her while you do chores, you do not have to be 100 percent active with her all the time because at that age they want you to smile and talk to them. If you can do other things as well do it. when my daughter was a newborn I would read books but instead of reading them I would say them out loud and make different voices for the characters, (granted these were like books like little women and the lord of the rings) but my daughter would smile and laugh the whole time, she is 5 now and we are reading harry potter and I still do the voices and she says that is her favorite part. I say as long as she is happy and it works for you try it. Dont forget doctors also say that you should let baby have some time to explore and find ways to have fun too. at 3 monthes they usually say 5 to 10 mins couple times a day, it teaches baby how to play by themselves as they get older you gradually increase it

Well, keeping a 3 month old "entertained" is not an easy task.. There's just not so much they can do.. I like to put soothing music on and have "tummy time" Put them on the floor on a blanket/mat.. .Read stories even if it's a book or magazine that you like to read... My kids LOVED baby einstein video's at that age... It allowed me to get the house in order and 1/2 hr. of peace... Perhaps get a baby swing, to soothe when fussy... However, it does sound like you are doing all the right things..good luck

My daughter is also nearly three months. She loves black and white things. The beams in our house are a constant fasination. Apart from this I can't think of any more. You are doing so well!
