I don't drink alcohol, if I do I would say yes because drinking seems to me a good way for escaping from life

I used to but the mental hospital in which I would take said breaks said that if I went in voluntarily again and disruspted their way of life, next time they'd commit me indefinitely.
So now I just hide in my closet and wait for the special friends in my head.

Not from life, but from other people and from monotony, yes. We all need to get away now and then, and also get away and just experience something new every once in awhile.
