ok, to me each year it seems liek the weaher channel just gets worse and worse. I liked it when it was 24/7 weather, not stupid programming stuff and put traffic into cuz first of the traffic portion just sucks imo. also i dont liek the new 'black bar' on the bottom .. what happned to the old date and time(h:m:s format) with just the forcasta nd stuff for the closest rgion to you...... now it switched between the time(h:m format) and the temp and has traffic flow, weather id (wtf is that), and other stuff. I used to go to TWC int he morning to check the time, date, and weather real quick .. now its just so differnt i really dont liek it at all. Does anyone else not liek the weather channel format now?

I agree with you.
The weather channel used to be something that you could tune in for a short period of time to learn what was happening in your area. Fortunately, they still have your local forecast on the 8s, but you have to make sure to tune in at the right time.
Our local cable channel used to have another weather channel that showed ONLY the local forecast and weather radar. Unfortunately, it was taken off the air.

That question needs to be answered by the Weather Channel people, as for other information, that is Underground Weather doing that. That black bar is provided through your local cable outlet through the Weather Channel. But if you want just information and not other stuff, there are now two weather stations other than the Weather Channel, one is called Weather Scan, which is put out by the Weather Channel and the other is NBC Weather + which are both digital cable exclusives.

I have New Jersey Traffic and Weather. It's kind of annoying now how they put a commercial in between because sometimes I just don't have any time to wait.

Yeah, I agree. People go to their channel for weather, not TV shows about tornados.
Their website is atrocious as well. More ads than weather, and it's nearly impossible to find a simple map.

Welcome to commercialization and money! That's what the Weather Channel is all about! Their website is now laden with advertising and pop-up ads. Once the money rolled in, they put it into different programming that would, theoretically, bring in more viewers. I have no respect for them anymore...
