Due to Senate rules and the Presidential veto, the Democrats can not pass any legislation. We are still stuck with the Republican platform of killing, high oil prices, all poor children
left behind and a housing collapse. Note the 4 items mentionned
are all sources of profits for Republicans in addition to grants and
tax loopholes. 2008 and Hillary will change this.

Having our troops in the middle east keeps the fundamentalists busy over there and not here in the states killing civilians. High oil prices are our Governments fault not Reps or Dems alone, they all make money off it one way or the other, I MY opinion it will only get worse with Dems because in the end they want to raise taxes and what does just about everybody use a ton of a day? A child not eating or having what he/she needs is the parents fault. The parents are either lazy or more interested in there own vices (drugs, alcohol, etc) than they are about their kids. My suggestion is to have your LOCAL government do something (I would list suggestions but I would be here all night). The housing collapse is not that bad, mega rich guys loosing a couple grand here or there is not stopping them from eating, or even the average joe having to live in his house another year or not make any money off his house won't kill him either. One more thing on housing, all the people loosing their home to foreclosure, guess what most of them did it to THEMSELVES. When you take out a loan you need to read the fine print and make sure you understand it and make the choice that is best for you in the LONG RUN. More and more people are trying to make a quick buck with these variable interest rates, hoping in 3-4 years someone is going to want their house, this is called gambling and you reap what you sow. Your last comment on Hillary, careful what you ask for, you just might get it! Look back at history and each President reaps the economy of the President before sowed. Bill rode high off Reagan and Bush Sr. Bush Jr has done a pretty good job with the mess that Bill left.

Now you may agree or disagree with what I have said here, but I have always been willing to listen to the other side and try to get to even ground. This is the problem that our Gov leaders need to fix. Stop being left or right and make the right choice for America then the world.

Hillary will not change anything just as her term in the senate has not provided anything useful her time in the white house will get no results. It is sad when the people in this country want to surrender instead of win. Luckily us old folks and our parents had the guts to stand up for the American Way and put politics aside to win the great world wars. Losses back then were in the millions and yet the country kept slugging away to win. Today's population lacks the intestinal fortitude to finish what they start and that is why the democrats waste time on things they know will never pass instead of tackling things that could be fixed.

If you think withdrawing American troops from Iraq will result in a net decrease in killing, you are gravely mistaken. It may save some American lives in the short term, but you can count on people all over the world continuing to kill eachother in large numbers, regardless of what Congress does or doesn't do.
