Anyone who cuts and pastes is not really participating in this forum. They are either too lazy and/or too dumb to post their own opinion. Bottom line, they take the easy way out, as with most other things in life (e.g. - enlisting in the military, building real families,...).

It is also a place to inform. Yahoo Answers are for answering questions. How are your opinions formed, out of a vacuum? No, everyone has sources they read and fact sites with stats and other info where they get their info. Yahoo Answers were never just about opinion. Go to the other Yahoo Answer forums, they all are information based as well from all kinds of sources. I don't think libs are the only ones that cut and paste, however. I've seen many cons cut and paste things that contradicts their own arguments because they didn't read the entire article they posted from.

What did you do in Kindergarten? Of course, you cut and pasted. Rad Libs are apparently not past that stage of development. If they would continue educating themselves, perhaps that might progress to the point of Economics, Mathematics or even Creative Writing to some of the brighter students. Only then would they have a shot at actually having an original thought. I do not mind restrained use of this practice if it is a way to look up actual information, versus an editorial presented as "news."

There could be several reasons that we could explore.
Ignorance is the first to come to mind. They cannot put together coherent thoughts into writing and to not look stupid they cut and paste others ideas.
Not having their own opinion could be another, being followers or collectivists and not individuals, they have to follow the doctrine as presented to them. Since that doctrine makes no sense it cannot be remembered easily and they have to resort to cut and paste.
And then of course there is the issue of being brainwashed. They do not what or why they think what they do, it has been drummed into them, what to think and say, so they have to follow the party line and cannot diverge or they will be cast out.
All in all a pretty sick group of socialists (DSS - Democratic Secular Socialist) http://www.smallgovtimes.com/story/06nov03.democratic.secular.revolution/index.html

I guess it probably goes both ways, but I would rather hear people's own thoughts in general. I am especially fatigued by the name calling and insults that seem to have gotten substantially worse on this site. I guess it's a reflection of what's going on in D.C.

That has been asked many times. Have you actually seen some of the garbage they actually cut and paste? They don't even read half the things they cut and paste. Sometimes it even defeats their own argument. Actually when someone cuts and pastes, I'll give it thumbs down so it will go away and I wont have to scroll through the page as far

Usually the only time I cut and paste is to use statistics to prove my case, or relevant excerpts from newspapers, etc. I think that you see many posters, not just liberals, do this quite a bit because so many far right wingers post questions with completely erroneous "facts" they claim, without leaving their own link to prove what they are saying.

Well, if I knew how, I might Cut, and Paste, but since I don't, I just rely on my feeble little brain.

no more than the conservatives who quote Rush L. and Ann C.
real answer : they do it for the same reasons that the equal number of conservatives do it for.
also, this is a question and answer forum, it's not the same as an opinion forum.
so.. if you have the correct answer to a question does it matter if someone else had it first ?

this is yahoo answers, not yahoo opinions(although i wonder sometimes). i would think a level 6 would grasp the question/answer format. there are those from both sides that copy/paste questions and answers, i'm amazed when people actually answer the question. it is not like the correct or best answer will be chosen in most cases
