I am aware of the standard definitions, Im just trying to stimulate conversation and see how people think. That is why its in the Social Science area.

Street Smarts is know how to deal with the world around you. Think relationships and dealing with and reading other people.

Book smarts is like general knowledge. Think academics and school and stuff.

Street smart is basically when you adapt to everyone around you. How you are able to read and communicate with everyone. Mainly, its how you survive outside ur job. How well you understand people, I guess. It's your common sense. Book smart is basically like those people in school that were always passing with high grades. Those that are able to quote things out of books, doing trigonometry and calculus. Stuff like that.

A "book smart" person is someone who does well in school, academics, or a field like science or history. A stereotypical "book smart" person is a nerd, or the "librarian stereotype."

A "street smart" person is usually someone who can manipulate others to get what they want. A "con artist" stereotype or someone with good social skills, charisma and political sense characterize someone who is "street smart."

Street smart is having the experience, and book smart is just reading about it.

Hands on life experience and learned book facts.

Although, I think that's just something people that feel stupid say, to make themselves feel better.
