D values at extemely higher because there were only 180,000 minted. The 1927-S in Extra Fine (EF-40) condition values at $4200.00. There were 3,107,000 of these minted. Here's hoping you have a "D" mint coin.

It looks like the 1927-D (Denver Mint) is the rare one, with the 1927-S (San Francisco mint )in second place. In grade extra fine 40 the 1927 Philadelphia mint coin trends for $825 up to $,1050 in Mint State 63. A trends value are an average of what the coin sells for at retail and tends to be a little high. Of course a dealer would pay less.
