He knew it was a joke and went back to his office for some sleep. The Democrats do not want to pull out of Iraq until next presidential election. That way their candidates have an issue to win on. If we pull out before then, then it becomes a real tight race. If we are there it will be a big win for them. Harry Reid was caught talking on of the war would be great for the Dems. It got them the Congress and will get them the Presidency.

I think he was sleeping because he knew that he did not have the votes to pass the bill. So he really didnt care. It was just a stunt to get attention on the war and try to make the President look bad.
