The widow of Daniel Pearl has sued more than a dozen reputed terrorists and Pakistan's largest bank, blaming them for the torture and murder of the Wall Street Journal reporter in 2002.......

Backed by the bank, terrorists "carried out the kidnapping, ransom, torture, execution and dismemberment of Daniel Pearl and broadcast those images nationwide," the lawsuit said. The suit seeks unspecified damages for acts it alleges were meant to "emotionally destroy the Pearl family and terrorize, appall and frighten American citizens."

I'm sure she feels she has to do something. Watching your loved one be beheaded can't be an easy thing.

The way the government finally got Al Capone behind bars was tax evasion, so going after the money isn't a new strategy, or a bad one.

Hopefully, it helps her.

there have been no protests calling for justice in the fur-fur equivalent to that exhibited in the Oscar furnish case,. No riots , no threats , no commemoration each and every week later by making use of the mass left or perfect. i'm relatively lacking any outrage over the bombings around the globe . the place became the outrage over the bombing of the Marine Barracks in Beirut. There are some issues anger administration won't be able to suppress. No ransom call for , not something !talk is way less costly at this component, kick as-, as David

1) She'll never find them

2) They will never make it in to a court of law alive

3) Can she *prove* the bank gave them money?

4) She cannot sue the citizens or corporations of other countries.

Yes, she is upset...but due to the nature of what happened she is not going to able to find justice. The only thing she will be able to find is acceptance of what happened and then move on from there.

God bless her! She'll never get anything, but I imagine it is a way for her to deal with her grief and to make sure there is some sort of 'judgment' against the cowards who murdered an Innocent man!

I feel very sad for her and her family's loss... it's a futile law suit but if this helps her grieve then that's okay with me. She can't expect for any monetary compensation though... but being a close relative of someone killed purposely and senselessly, I can sympathize.

If she can find them to serve papers, perhaps we should get her into the military to hunt down bin laden. Though I would support what she is trying to do, if it is possible to find them to sue them, I would just hunt them down myself and take care of it out of the courts.

I can't imagine any lawyer taking that task, even on a contingency basis.

Wow!

I say go for it! Lawyers will take on any case. I just hope she doesn't pay them unless there is a settlement.
