Why would they propose raises and increase military strength but attach it to troop withdrawl?

Because now in their campaign ads they can say that certain republicans voted against pay raises for the troops. It is all a game to manipulate the non-thinking public in elections. Here in Missouri Clair McCaskill was nasty enough to say Jim Talent voted against protective gear for the troops, when he didn't. There are always dozens of other things attached to bills. It is never cut and dry.

They would rather give themself a raise that's what they are doing today it 's on Polise Desk for a vote. Than support our troops as they would rather have a smaller military anyway.

Because they need the money for their OWN raises!
