Do we even know exactly where he is? I think a sniper team might be useful AFTER he is located.

Not that easy. The terrain in tora bora and areas like Pakistan and afghanistan is very difficult. You cant just send one guy in and expect to nab a guy like Osama.
The reason why Osama is still alive, unfortunately for us, is that he is somewhat intelligent. He gets all of his pawns to do his dirty work while he commands them from caves and tunnels safe from bombing and sniper fire.
I have seen videos of our Snipers in Afghanistan taking out taliban militants, so they are there. But unfortunately taking down a top dog like Osama is never that easy. History has proven that he will most likely get betrayed and killed before he is found, like many other famous terrrorist or revolutionary leaders.

We have.
First, special forces allegedly had Bin Laden's location. Personally, I doubt the link, not because it is from Al Jazeera, but because even if a decision was made not to shoot him a missile could have been sent instead.
There are special forces operating in Pakistan (so some say) and they are there to find and kill the Taliban forces that attack and kill in Afghanistan.

Snipers teams move slow.. and it would require luck to find and kill him with a sniper team. Special opps would be slightly better.. as they have more mobility but they would still require being at the right place at the right time... we need to get intelligence into place to locate him.. then either option (or a cruise missile to the face) would be sufficient to take him out.. depending on the type of information and time sensitivity of the matter.

we can't
Pakistan told bush he can't, and because bush is a wussy he lets them have their way.
so much for the real war on terror
---------------------------------------------------
it's funny how conservatives make excuses for bush.
1st. we don't have troops in Pakistan
2nd. sniper teams are hunters, you can send them to search for bin laden if bush had balls enough to stand up to Pakistan.
why don't people talk about the fact that bush lets Pakistan push him around.
bush is giving Pakistan the opportunity to expand their atomic bomb program for their help in tracking down Osama (which they aren't)

How do you know we have not?
Maybe for once the press hasn't found out about, and leaked, our plans, thus tipping the bad guys off again.
I'm sure we have plenty of the way of special forces there. Just because you and I don't have details doesn't mean it's not happening.

Because the Shrub and his crew need their boogeyman to scare the sheeple, so they don't see what's REALLY going on.
