Ummmm..absolutely.

Think about it. If she had said, "Yes, you have two felony warrants outstanding." would you STAY there????

I think not.

Police can lie about the warrant. Police lie during interrogation. Police lie by sending "You won a contest" letters to felons that they have warrants for to get them all in one place to snag them."

They can lie. And it's LEGAL.

I'm a bit curious....why would you call to see if you had a warrant in the FIRST place?

It would be my best guess that if you had a warrant...she would have told you to turn yourself in!

They can't lie because warrants are needed to search a home (it says in the fourth amendment). I have no evidence to suggest that they do or do not lie.
