If a couple is together, the rule is that the man should keep all the big bills on him while the woman is allowed to keep change in her purse and smaller bills such as ones in case she needs to get a drink, gum, or a snack. The reason for this is because since the man is the leader and the stronger one in the relationship he is to be the official money holder. His job is to protect the money from being stolen. Plus, its also his job to pay for her needs when his woman is with him. Also, if you want to be extra safe, the woman should hand over any credit cards (if she has them) to her husband. Does this sound familiar or am i way off base here?

I think your way off on your head here. My mother always carried her purse, so she always had her wallet. Which meant her credit cards and her ID were always with her. My farther did pay for the meals, but my mother was never without her purse. Which she kept more in then just change.

All 'N' all, as usually you have taken things WAY too far. There is no 'official money holder', OR 'leader' in a RELATIONSHIP, (does that sound familiar?) And what is with and these 'unwritten rules' of yours??? Honestly you scare me sometimes, and I'm not joking when I say that

Way off base. First if you are stupid enough to be carrying around large amts of cash then it should be split between the two of you. Believe me, a woman can keep the cash in easily accessible places that no pick pocket can get too without getting noticed. Same goes if you share an acct with a debt card, one for each in case one is lost or stolen you have a back up...as long as the bank doesn't goof up and ace both cards on the acct.

Way off base. I know more women who are better at managing money than men. I think the men should hand over their money and credit cards to their women to handle. They can keep some change and a few ones in case they need something to drink or a snack.

When I was married, we both worked outside the home and the money we made was our money so we both carried cash and credit cards. Usually when we dined out, went shopping, to the movies, etc. he either paid with case or used the credit card. We both always thought it should be the man who paid and since it was our money together we were both actually paying for it, he was just the one to give the waiter or cashier the money.

I will answer for her because I believe giving women access to the internet will give them independent thoughts. I will let her borrow a specific amount for when she needs it for grocery shopping which I believe should be done by the woman.

And ladies I am kidding you can't take sandstorm seriously because there is no way he would get away pulling this stuff in reality in 2007.

I would be seriously offended if any man asked me to hand over all the notes I had in my purse and cards.

I think that it depends on the women. For me my man takes care of the money. It's a lot harder for someone to go inside his back pocket without him felling it. Then it is just to snatch my purse.

Well, all is well and good in theory except you missed that one commercial.

No one carries cash anymore. He carries his ATM card and I usually have mine on me, too....

I see no reason why he should carry my card if he is with me. (I mean, he is With me.) I carry it all the time when he is not anyway, since I don't usually carry cash.

And we discontinued using credit cards about a decade ago.

Hope this helps.
