OK, I won't use the Bible, I'll use the US Constitution.
This states that ALL citizens are entitled to equal rights. This SHOULD include marriage rights (over 1000 of them), but this is currently not being enforced, and state-sponsored discrimination ensues.
That's all the argument you need - "because the Constitution says so." it's awfully hard to trump that.
Also, in a country that values the separation of church and state, religion should have NO say in which rights are given to citizens per the Constitution.

there's nothing wrong with marriage (gay or straight) except possibly the amount of money lawyers make doing divorces.
Basically if two adults love each other and want to live together as a couple and enjoy the benefits of beong a couple then that should be the only prerequisite. Gender should play no more of a role than religion or race or the colour of car each drives..

In the US, marriage licenses are granted by the county clerk, not a church. Making marriage a religious experience is something that is a choice, but is not necessary. The county clerk or a justice of the peace can perform the marriage ceremony. It used to be illegal for a black person to marry a white person, and that law was changed as society changed. The Bible was used to justify that one also. Once it is established that sexual orientation is innate, current law will be modified to reflect that new information. Oh, and by the way, sexual orientation has nothing to do with the act of sex. You can be gay and a virgin. It is to whom you are attracted to sexually, not the sex act.

Why is it right? I'd say that was simple. It's right because these folks are human beings. There is no greater gift than to love and be loved. when anyone finds that person they wish to spend teh rest of their life with we should all dance and celebrate.
We are who and what we were born to be. No government (at least in this country) has the right to tell a church whom it can and cannot marry. The government should also not have the right to choose not to recognize some marriages at its whim.

Marriage is a committment that you make to be in a monogomous relationship with someone. The paper work is the governments way yo control and tax everything. Who cares who you commit to. It is a personal choice to be gay and a personal choice to marry nad no one should put stipulations on either.

I'm pro-gay-marriage, but not for me, thank you.
Rock Hudson married.
I knew a couple named George and Jim they lived together for 27 years, until Jim died. Marriage would have enabled the other partner to visit in the hospital, and pass on an inheritance to his partner.

The solution yo this problem is for the Gay community to start their own religion , beliefs and churches, and leave the main stream religions alone.

Why do we need the gvmt to tell us if we are married or not? Why should gvmt regulate peoples unions?
There is no reason why the gvmt should be involved in the marriage business!
