The squeaking noise can be stopped permanently and the correct answer is NOT by applying any type of lubricant to the reverse (steel) side of the disc brake pads. Go to NAPA or Car Quest and pick up a small plastic squeeze bottle of CRC Disc Brake Quiet. This product is a high temperature silicone material that cancels disc brake pad harmonics and vibrations, the cause of squeal and unwanted noise.
Thoroughly clean the steel side of the pads with CRC Disc Brake Cleaner. Apply a .060 - .090 thickness of the liquid silicone Brake Quiet. Let it dry for 25 -35 minutes before re-assembly. Your problem noise will be solved!

In the future use only ceramic or 100% organic brake pads. You will see less red / brown dust on your wheels and your rotors will live much longer. If you choose organic pads your rotors will outlast your car. Metallic and semi metallic eat rotors for desert.

If you just had them done at a shop, take it back there. There is a special lubricant they can put on the back side of the pads that will help prevent this noise. Otherwise, it should not effect brake performance or longevity for them to squeek, it's just anoying.

Nothing. They just squeak. It may get less as they break in. If you're worried take it back to the shop and have them check their work.

you will have to change em out soon. Spend the extra $ and get ceramic pads. They will last 3 times as long.
