your absolutely right...put it up to those that live in the country to decide what happens by majority rule..rather than sit back and watch the childlike politicians do everything based on the outcome of winning more votes the next time he runs or making money off big business for votying their way...
its about time to see what real americans think..not the sorry bunch of losers that somehow manage to get into office...

No need to worry about it - the cure is in progress; i.e.,
Within 11 weeks, Iran and a few other countries will be nuked, 1/4th of the earth and 1/3rd of the inhabitants will be destroyed; but,
This will only make the people more upset and hatred rise - leading to 4/5ths of the earth and the people completely and utterly destroyed ... and then,
The sun will be darkened and the moon turned to blood; because of, the fall out and the debris thrown into the atmosphere ... thus,
All hope of life will be gone - however,
It will be then that the 2 billion people left on the earth will turn to the Remnant of the 144,000 that were prophesied of and are here - to teach them of peace ... and the Messiah upon his return will roll back the dust and debris like a scroll ... but;
Mankind must learn the lesson first - that peace does not come from a stronger army or a bigger bomb. It all part of the plan ... so that mankind can realize that what they have been educated in for the 6,000 years they have been on earth and the teachings handed down from generation to generation ... there is no peace without the way to peace being taught.
At that time - the whole of mankind will joyfully turn over the governments to us, the remnant of the 144,000, then the rest of that number will be raised from the dead and we will guide the world and then the universe as to how to seek peace and pursue it ... never again to make the mistakes that led us to what is coming in the next 11 weeks.
Hope this is encouraging.
Peace;

The united States was founded on the idea of for the people by the people, but the founding fathers were weary of the population because in the 18th century many people were uneducated and many could not even read. The concept of leaving decisions made on policy and what not to an uneducated population seemed like a horrible idea to the founding fathers. This is why we have the ellectoral college, and I suspect why the policies of the country are not put to a direct vote.

That's not how our government is designed. If we were going to vote on every issue, every time it was raised why would elect representatives? The government is "By the People" (Although I'll stand by you on questioning "for the people"). People elect their senators and representatives into Washington DC (or state legislatures). People need to take some more responsibility when it comes to our government. Stop simply voting along party lines and for incumbents. Stop buying in to the empty promise that the government is going to give you something for free and vote for representatives who want to work to give you a real opportunity. And for goodness sake, VOTE!

There are over 300 million people living in united states. We'd first have to vote on whether or not an issue would be worth voting on (think of all the issues that never even make it to the voting stage).
Basically we'd spend most of our life voting and we'd never guarantee that our votes would actually be recorded.
It's kind of like we don't really indivially vote for our president. Bush won his presidency against Al Gore even though Al Gore got the popular vote.

well you would have to tear up the constitution and start over. 3 branches of govenment? congress, executive, and courts thing. remember that part?
um it seems that we the people gave signed off on this form of democracy and it's doin ok, i suppose.
also, be careful what you wish for as only about 40% of the people bother to vote anyway. i'm not sure you or i for that matter, would like some tiny group of activists controling these monthly elections you propose.

I like your pic. In the US we have a representative republic. We cannot do what you suggest. If we did, it would be total chaos. What if everyone voted to drive on the right side of the road on Monday then voted to drive on the left side of the road on Tuesday?

Because the U.S.A. is a representative form of gov't. which saves us from the necessity of going to the polls every month.
The voter turnout would not impress you anyway. Most folks seem not to care, judging by the voters vs registered voters last time in my district.
