Check to see if it has a mint mark, it is located on the eagle side at the bottom below the wreath. If it has one re-ask the question or email me. the 1884 without a mint mark was minted in Philadelphia and had a mintage of 14,070,000 and is not scarce, It is worth $13.50 in grade good to $16.75 in grade almost uncirculated. Value is $36 in mint state grade 63. The above values are about what a dealer would pay.

The best way is to take it to your local coin shop. You can look it up on the net, but the site I'm giving you will not tell you the CONDITION of your 1884 silver dollar. The condition is the MOST important feature of just about any common coin, which your coin is.
