I reveived a blank money order as payment from an ebay listing. None of the fields are filled in, but the amount it is for (its value) is filled in.

The "Customer Receipt" is attached too.

What should I fill in before I cash it (if I can still cash it)?

You should make it out to yourself or 'cash' and then simply endorse the back and deposit it or cash it. (I would cash it because if it's fraudulent they would tell you right then).

in case you recognize who despatched it to you, digital mail/call them and ask them approximately it. do not deliver the item that became offered, till you have cleared the difficulty up. to boot, i might advise the calling the economic organization that issued the money order in the 1st place and discover out from them. i'm guessing that the guy sending it to you, did not know who to make it out to, or forgot to take action, and despatched it to you clean. All you will desire to would desire to do is fill on your call on the Pay To line and sign the returned. money orders are money, not tests, so they might't bounce. If it relatively is in the precise volume that it became meant to be in, i might say you're secure. Oh, and on an exceedingly final be conscious, verify to be certain if the guy signed it. you may fill in each and every of the thoughts your self, too. in simple terms be certain that whoever is indexed because of the fact the buyer, has to sign the money order, if there isn't a niche to sign it on the front, then do not subject approximately it. :)

I would ask the bank teller. I believe putting your name as the Payee would be the main thing. Does it already have a date and an amount?
