I'd say birds singing but then again we might just think it's well, birds singing.
Alarm clocks HAVE to be shrill. They are the mechanical equivalent of a drill Sargent yelling "Get your lazy butt out of bed...NOW!" A kinder, gentler alarm clock would be the equivalent of "Come on, sweetie. It's time to get up.", and that is just not going to cut it on Monday morning.

I sleep with my window open, and every morning starting about 5:30 am the birds start to sing. Thats my favorite alarm sound, birdsong.

The sound of coffee percolating- along with the smell of fresh-roasted coffee...
& I rarely drink coffee, so that would be very pleasant.
