Totally, except the romans taxed the community, and the catholic comm. freely gives their money to the church. Boy look where it's going to, to pay off Lawyers, Parents of poor abused children(abused by priests), and wonderful gold thrones for the pope to sit upon...... hmmmmm NO WONDER I'M ATHEIST!!!!!!!!!

Since *some* Roman Catholic priests aren't predominantly Italian, no, there is no cultural correlation.

the roman catholic church (that's church as in the organisation) has its own internal culture though.
