Did he have a will? If not, you may be involved in the dispensation of the estate.

If the children turn over power of attorney, or estate to fathers sister, than nothing more needs to be done. But along with the burial some things that need to be dealt with are estates and property. Utility shot offs. Bank account closers Notification to debtors, or others. Cleaning up his affairs, such as his home. There are things to be done! But not necessarily by the children.

If he left a will, they might want to see it. If he left an estate without a will, they might want to get an executor named. If he left no assets, then there is nothing further to do.
