I am 15 and 1/2 weeks pregnant. I have been noticing a strange pain in my belly button. It feels like tiny needles. It isn't horrible. Just strange feeling. Is this normal?

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing it's just your body preparing itself for all the stretching that's going to be going on later when your belly starts to get really big.

I've been wondering the same thing. I'll be 20 weeks on Friday and my belly button feels funny. I honestly figured that it was because I had my belly button peirced and there is some scar tissue and assumed that it was the scar tissue stretching (I don't even know if that's possible). But it's like a sharp pain that last a few seconds but around my belly button.

Yes it is normal, I asked my doctor the same thing because I have had belly button pain all during my pregnancy im now 9 months and my doctor told me it was just your muscles seperating to give the baby room to grow. Good Luck!

lol, i'm pretty sure its okay. I am 15 and 1/2 weeks also and i had those pains probably 2 weeks ago. They are gone now. But my pains were more like a knife going into my belly button!

With my first pregnancy, I had sharp, shooting pains in my belly button before it popped out and became an outie instead of an innie. I'm not sure if it is normal or not. It did not happen in later pregnancies.

i've looked at the other responses and having never been pregnant have nothing to go on....however...if this pain comes with a fever, please seek medical attention. if you still have your appendix, pain can often times start here. i don't recall having pregnant women complain of needle type pain in their belly button before so if you starting puking and running a fever, please get to a doctor

its perfectly normal. your bellybutton is where the umbilical cord connects to the baby's bellybutton. So, the feelings that you are having is probably the baby moving around. give it about 5 more weeks and you will actually be able to feel your baby moving around all over your tummy

Yes, it is normal. I just had a doctor's appt yesterday and had to ask this myself. The doctor said it was just a growing pain.
Hope this helps.
