Because they have been exposed for the liars they are. Democrats campaigned with a bunch lies, as usual. Once they were elected, they stopped.
The unofficial Democratic Party motto is "Everything Bush does is wrong. We do things differently. We'll raise taxes while doing what he does."

It's pretty simple. They made promises to get elected that there is no way they can keep in the current political climate, and instead of being good politicians and trying to influence real progress, all they are concerned about is the next Presidential Election.
The people are not that stupid, and that's why the approval rating is very low.

People that voted the Dems into power with the promise of ending the war are upset that the political reality is much different. The democrats have known this for some time and so they revert to political theater such as last nights sleepover to placate the masses.

Because Republicans can't stand the Dems that are in Congress and Democrats can't stand the Cons that are in.
So everyone can't stand some part of Congress except for that 14% out there.. I wonder what % of the Nation is Independent? (a true curiosity.. but I bet it is close to 15%)

Well it said..."very satisfied, or extremely satisfied"...it didn't include ..."somewhat satisfied"....it's kind of hard to judge a poll that only shows one side of it. Where's the numbers for the responses ?
I like this one better...

It's clear that congress has a low approval rating....but it's also clear that republicans in congress have a lower approval than democrats in congress.

I think the people want sweeping changes and want them now, but Congress moves like slugs. They also took a big blow with the amnesty bill.

Probably because this administration has given everyone a poor taste in their mouth for politics. Any change they try to incur is veto anyway. Perhaps things will be better in about 18 months when this corrupt administration packs their bags and leaves the house. That way people that having nothing better to do than monitor polls will have something to do..

Because the American people sent them there to stop Bush's war--and that hasn't happened yet.
When--not if--that happens, you'll see the approval rating for Congress go up.
But the American people know--and won't forget--that its the right-wing in Congress that isblocking progress while our troops continue to die for Bush's mistakes and ego.

America is not happy with Democrats wanting amnesty for undocumented. Democrat politicians are now seen as the party that supports undocumented workers shutting down our cities to wave Mexican flags and yell "Go back to Europe!". (In reality Mexicans are not U.S. Native Americans. U.S. Native American and Mexicans never got along. The Mexican-U.S. border was around 1000 years ago)
Modern Democrats are ruining America. They have nothing in common with FDR, JFK, LBJ, or Truman. Today's cogressional Democrats are nothing more than grown up hippies or "flower children" of hippies. Just 20 years ago, both Republicans and Democrats hated hippies. Now hippies are in control of congress. Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco voting record shows she is a certifiable hippy.
Hippies' anti-American campaigns resulted in themselves promoting the ideas of mass murderers. Hippies actions were actually illegal many years ago.
Democrat's anti-marriage ways have created double digit increases in welfare going to single parents. 75% of all welfare goes to single parents.
"three quarters of this aid [WELFARE] flows to single parent families.Children raised without a father in the home are more likely to experience: emotional and behavioral problems, school failure; drug and alcohol abuse, crime, and incarceration. The beneficial effects of marriage on individuals and society are beyond reasonable dispute, and there is a broad and growing consensus that government policy should promote rather than discourage healthy marriage." http://www.heritage.org/Research/Welfare/tst021005a.cfm
