My 12th grade Government teacher said that if a police officer reaches into your mouth by force to retrieve something illegal, then you cannot be charged with anything because its illegal for the police to do and the officer would be in trouble. Even if its drugs. Is this true?

If they have reasonable cause, they can. Your teacher is wrong.

The courts have repeatedly made exceptions to the need for search warrants when time is critical. In this instance, they can get something from your mouth to stop you from swallowing/destroying evidence. Similarly, the courts have ruled that the police can search cars they have pulled over on the side of the road without a warrant or your consent because of time and safety issues.

No. It isn't true.

If the cop has reason to suspect you're concealing contraband he can go down your throat.

Happens all the time. Ever watch COPS?

just ask the many people in prison who were caught with drugs in their mouth if this is true.

All they need is probable cause. If they ask you to open your mouth and you refuse - there's your probable cause

I'm not reaching into your mouth, you might bite my fingers off. if i know you have something illegal however, i am allowed to retrieve it. but hey, if you want to swallow the lethal dose of crack, go right ahead.

they can also go into the prostate, and even go in there before going in your mouth. how would you like that? they do not care about violating any law, they are above the law it seems any how.

If they can stick their fingers in your butt to retrieve contraband I see no reason why they couldn't stick their fingers in your mouth....
