Reasons I hear that you don't:
1. They're too hot
2. They don't fit, are too tight, or slide down
3. They're not in style anymore
My resposnes to this:
1. Buy a pair of sheer-to-waist that are very sheer! Da!
2. Buy a pair that actually fits! If you do, you'll LOVe how they feel!
3. Who says they're not in style?? So many men seem to love them on women, they look sexy, clean, and professional. They just make a woman's legs look so smooth and YUMMY!
I had a meeting with a woman yesterday that wore a pretty short skirt, with slides and no hose. She was probably late 40's, and her legs had blue marks, wrinkles, and sags, and her feet had veins sticking way out! Now HOW can any woman out there say that THAT looks good???? Honestly, I am truly a 'leg' man, and I couldn't stand to look at her! Yuk!
So how are bare legs better???? (at least with most women)

To some of the women who've answered "we'll wear what we want, regardless of how it looks" - Consider seeing a co-worker, a man, wearing sandals with hairy, yellow, crusty toe-nails. Would you expect him to cover them up and wear closed toe shoes? Do you want to look at that?
Plus, does that look appropriate for business attire, a man wearing sandals to work???

the same as you mate
- girls need to get the pantyhose/tights back on their bottom halves!
there is no excuses they can give that will dignify not wearing the in the office
- us men still have to wear ties and jackets in the summer months and they make me sweet like hell, but i still have to have them on!
- its sexist!
i agree with all your responses for their moaning!
- us men do find girls in pantyhose/tights very sexy!
that girls lewgs sound sick!
- what was she thinking!?

In a work meeting? That sounds inappropriate. If it is a relaxed workplace, it may be more acceptable.
My personal opinion, I live where it's 116 right now, so there's no way I'm wearing hose. I have a great tan and am in a relaxed environment, so I don't need hose. However, if I were to go into a business like a lawyer's office or someplace where the men wear ties, I would certainly wear hose or at least slacks (not jeans). I feel that you have to be a social chameleon, esp if you take your job seriously.
It is more socially acceptable for women not to wear hose nowadays. Do the other women who attend these meetings wear hose? Is she rebellious? Is she single? There could be many reasons why she made the choice to go bare. However, somebody should take this woman aside and let her know that the short skirt and no hose is not a way to help her career. She might think she looks hot, she did 20 yrs ago! Some people are resistant to change. She may not be ready to admit that she's an "older woman" now. Whatever the reason, try to be understanding & patient.

Oh brother! I don't believe this. What a draconian view! How old are you? How would you respond if a woman wrote: "Men should wear jock straps all the time. Helps keep the "buldge" in place and enhances the package. I am definitely a crotch watcher and can't stand to see those flaccid little things drooping. Yuk!"
Pantyhose ARE hot, mostly uncomfortable, sometimes itchy, constricting, sometimes painful (the waistbands roll, no matter what size you are) and run no matter how much you pay for them. Most women are no longer willing to pay any price to be appreciated by gawkers.
Only thick support hose would change the appearance of the legs of the woman you described. Then you'd hate that look even more.
Besides, you weren't there to look at her legs anyway. You spoke about hose looking professional, sexy and clean. You maybe need to work on making your personality look that way.
I've bought expensive hosiery the whole time I was a dedicated wearer. Makes no difference. They run after one or two wears because washing must be done after the first wear and that just ruins them; even hand washing, which I did. Do you have $7-10 for new socks every other day? Start handing out subsidies for hose and maybe I'll consider wearing them again. In the winter I wear knee highs or trouser socks under my pants. Both wear and wash well.
My bare legs look fantastic! I have never shave them because I don't have to, since they are naturally hairless, smooth and beautifully "tanned" all year long! *I love being Black and beautiful me!* In the summer, natural oils only enhance the sexy look of my legs. I just rub some on until they glow. Talk about sexy! I look so good I turn myself on!

Pantyhose rip way too easily; I've owned three pairs in my life and none of them have lasted beyond the first time of wearing. I never bought any again. They were also very uncomfortable, I don't care how sheer or thin something is, I don't want something clinging to my legs like that. And no I don't care about looking sexy or professional, most of the time I go around in a pair of jeans and a tshirt rather than a skirt anyhow... and clean only when you catch me before I go out to do any gardening or hiking, camping etc.
No, I would NOT expect any man to cover up his feet regardless of how his toes looked, I'd much rather see the worst feet in sandals if the guy's comfortable that way than force him to wear closed shoes in summer. Comfort wins over aesthetics, always.

1) not really an issue to me. i usually buy sheer ones anyways.
2) try being short and not a size 0. by the time you accomodate the proper size up top, they are too long, and that's not something that can be fixed. they don't make nylons for short gals who are size 10 or larger.
3) style has nothing to do with what men prefer. i don't think they look sexy at all. they remind me of my grandmother. I do think they are professional and make your legs look nice, but sometimes the outfit does not warrant it. And until recently with the advent of footless and toeless varieties a woman had no choice of stockings to wear with sandals or other open toe shoes. I also don't agree with you that they make legs look smooth. I can still see the fabric and it doesn't look right.
And for the woman that you described at your meeting, nothing would help her. you would see all of that through even the thickest of nylons. medical intervention would be required.
On the flip side women should be asking men, why do you wear long baggy pants that hang off your rear end? on what planet is that considered fashionable? What is with the do-rag? and non swimmer's wearing speedos? I could go on but I won't.

I believe that in a business/professional setting a woman should wear panty hose when wearing a skirt.
I don't believe they should have to wear them under pants though, dress socks would be appropriate. I also believe that in a business/professional setting you should not wear open toes.
However, day-to-day with a casual skirt and sandals panty hose would be inappropriate.
I don't think they're uncomfortable, but they can raise your temperature.

Um yeah, so the woman's legs had "blue marks", wrinkles, and sags? Honey, there's a reason why her legs are like that...it's called aging.
To answer your question, we don't wear pantyhose because we don't have to if we don't want to. Michael Kors for one stated that they aren't in style based on the fact that he finds the seams at the toe sticking out of open-toed shoes to be very tacky.
Maybe that woman wore a pretty short skirt because she wanted to and she doesn't let anyone dictate to her what she should be wearing for her age. If she feels confident wearing a short skirt, then let it be. I hope you realize that not every woman has legs that have that photoshopped look nor do they need plastic surgery.

there are various reasons to positioned on pantyhose. they'd shop you heat, are soft, oftentimes make the legs look lots better, and that they sense superb. yet there are additionally a great form of girls who do not want to positioned on them. and of course adult men could additionally positioned on pantyhose. Many do so already and their numbers are on the upward push. i like to positioned on them as properly and for me there are greater reasons to positioned on them than to not positioned on them. So, in case you want to purpose them you will desire to, they are super to positioned on and you will not be apologetic approximately it. it particularly is an adventure you shouldn't deny your self.

a professional women should ALWAYS wear hose. even with slacks. they should also never wear open toe shoes. if you are outside a lot they will make your legs sweat and they become itchy. they also help cover any stubble on the legs. i have no idea why they would not have worn them. it is a necessity. and women's knees usually are not as nice looking without them.

Like one of the girls said, "you try wearing them". I wear them in the winter but come summer my legs are bare. They are hot and uncomfortable and it never fails just before a business meeting I'll run them. To get a true answer to your question stop at Walmart and buy a pair of control top pantyhose, wear them for a few hours...
