Find a lawer in the state where the divorce was filed.

I had this same problem. Speak with a lawyer and find out what you need to do as all kinds of things come into play.

I ended up having to file in my former state. But you may have a different situation altogether. You're best bet is to talk with a lawyer where you are right now and see what you need to do.

Yes go to a lawyer in the state that you are filing for divorce. Most lawyers any way in my area give the first consultation for free.

Im assuming this is your divorce. If so, just worry about your lawyer and it is part of thier job to locate and contact your spouse or whoever they want to represent them. They will be given a notice of intent and a date to appear with the details to go over. from there it is up to your spouse to respond.
