Depends on the individual.

How long should you wait between blows to your head with a hammer?

most people who get re-married do it within a couple years. It might look bad if you get remarried within a couple months, so play it cool. If you're last marriage didn't work out, you should think it through and be sure that this is really what you want first. On the other hand, don't have yourself convinced that you'll always be alone, etc because that would just be stupid. Feel it out. If you find someone that you know you'll love forever, take it easy then go for it. Don't syke yourself into thinking the same thing will happen again because it doesn't have to. Good luck.

I think that there is not really a time.. I think that once you get over your last marriage and is ready to open up to someone else then that is the time.
But make sure that you want to get re-married, and that you are really in love with that other person....

If my marriage fails I will never get married again because this is my second marriage and I don't want to go through all the BS that goes with marriage ever again...I'm not saying I won't fall in love again but I don't want to ever make the legal commitment again.

I don't have a time limit for remarrying, but I think you should wait a year before seriously dating. So I guess I'd say at least a year.

If you're already dating, then it's whenever you're sure this girl is the one you want to be with forever. (slight sarcasm, but not mean spirited)

i have read and was told by my therapist during my divorce also, that it takes the average person 1-2 years to simply ADJUST from a divorce, and to grieve and to prepare to move on with life. the average being a year

it's also suggested that a serious relationship before then is sometimes a REBOUND.. which is a relationship simply to prove to yourself and possibly the ex, that you are still loveable. it has nothing to do with the rebound person you are with, because you have nothing to give!

i thnk that it's safe to date casually and certainly socialize with friends.

everyone's different, but i've never seen a rebound relationship last. take care of YOU first... otherwise you will have nothing to give.

It's not a matter of a time line it is a matter if you have gotten all of your past relationship out of your system. You have to be cleared of any past baggage before you can begin a new life with someone else or it would not be fair to that person. If you have done that there is no time line.

Is the ink dry yet? Just kidding....give yourself at least a year of breathing time. Don't rush into something that is so easy to get into and so difficult and heartbreaking (and sometimes financially devastating) to get out of! Find out who you are first, and what you want out of life and then find somebody who feels the same way that you love and respect...then, if you want to tie the knot, do it. Gotta get your head straight first.

I got divorced in december of 05, and never thought i'dd be engaged 2 years later; but I saw a ring reciept in his pocket last weekend, and i'm gonna say yes. If you love the person, and know they are the one, go for it. Just be sure, you truely can't live without her.
