Good for you for posting this link. Beware...Al Gore's Global Warming police will come after you for needing re-education! Too bad for Al Gore...we already saw 1984, the movie and read the book.

It amazes me how anyone attempts to debunk today's climate change science with 100 year old science, 50 year old science and 30 year old science. But attempt they do.
I can pull articles from Scientific American that say flying machines are impossible, that if people traveled above 30 mph they would not be able to breathe. The Earth was once the center of the universe, then it was the sun, then it was the center of the galaxy.
Guess what. That science was wrong. And so it is with 100 year old climate studies. We did not have the models, the core samples, the chemical analysis we have now. We only had observation and conjecture.
The science we have now is of course, still imperfect. But it clearly shows the inadequacies of past pronouncements and we have solid correlation between greenhouse gases and warming.
Remember the Ozone problem? 30 years ago we came to understand that certain chemicals were depleting the ozone layer that protects us from UV light. For ten years the debate raged while country after country began to make changes. About 20 years ago we stopped pumping most of the known chemicals that depelte ozone into the atmosphere. Since then ozone has stablized and is improving. (but will take 50-100 years to fully restore) Had we done nothing the results may have been devestating.
So you can choose to do nothing about green house gas emissions based on 100 year old science that contradicts today's science. But I will put my money on the best information we have, not the oldest that that happens to tell me what I want to hear.

In a Texas book store, 'An Inconvenient Truth' was in the fiction section. Great.
I'm not too skeptical about global warming. I think we're destroying the Earth, and even if it isn't true, we should take the steps to conserve anyway. Better safe than sorry--and anyway, shouldn't we leave something for our offspring to live with?

Yes, science has made mistakes. And science never claims to be 100% accurate.. but it does improve over time. We now have more data, more accurate data, super computers to analyze million of variables at the same time in a fraction of the time (days, not years). We are getting smarter.. or at least better informed. We also have longitudinal data now.. something we really didn't have in the past. will we still fluctuate? Probably.. but the trend is that the whole scale of fluctuations are moving up. Do you know what a trend line is? if so create one for the Global temperature data over the past 150 years and ask yourself if we are warming or cooling after you see that.

Actually the scientific term is Global climate Change. Global warming is media fury. Global climate change means that things are changing. Meaning the poles are getting warmer which for some reason is causing the equator to become more temperate, which in turn is causing more rain fall in the desert, which cause climate change somewhere else. The fear is not that it's going to get warmer, the fear is that a permanent change 10 degrees either way could potentially kill the planet. plants die= animals die= dead planet (plants are very touchy)

I have to explain this again?
The Scientific Method states that in order for an experiment to be valid there must be a "control" that elimiates the variable. In this case, human beings are the variable. So...where is the "control" the climatologists are using? They don't even design climate models of an Earth that contains no humans.
Also, many climatologists are interpreting only the data that supports their preconveived conclusions and ignoring the data that does not.
Finally, even if we presume that human beings are causing global warming and that it is already too late, what would it matter? We are humans and we will adapt to the new climate patterns.

I do my part to keep the earth clean. As for Global Warming whether it's real or not is not for me to assume. But I know one thing for sure, Using big name celebrities and crocked politicians Will NOT convince me it is. I just use my common sense and make choices to help rather than dismiss it.

Damn global imagining showing the melting of the ice all over the world .
Its summer and the ice always melts and then in winter it freezes back .
Do they think we are silly enough to by that .
Sure show some pictures of trees in winter and tell me the trees are all dying .

That was an interesting article. It certainly shows that they science involved has only recently been collected and interpreted in a thorough way. Most skepticism comes from ignorance though. For example, Global Warming can cause certain areas to undergo a mini ice age. Many don't understand how this is possible, so they assume it is part of a disagreement within the scientific community. But at this point, the science is coherent enough that it shows Global Warming is real and humans are contributing to it.

This has been a very cool summer...it has only hit the upper 90's here in Middle Georgia once or twice this summer...usually by this time we have had several 100 degree days...Al Gore is a tool...remember he is cereal...
