Muralitharan has already taken 700 wickets and he needs only 9 wickets to overtake Shane Warne's record of 708 wickets. He will defenitely achieve this target during Sri Lanka's forthcoming tour of Australia and will set a new recordfor most number of wickets in test cricket.

definite the two are icons, Murali has performed impressive issues for charity in Sri Lanka extremely after the tsunami. Warne has been in contact in assisting young ones and passing on his know-how, he's easily an icon in Australia. Murali greater effectual. soft one, i understand the Asians would have their evaluations as to why Murali replaced into better, via fact the rest human beings would have an opinion as to why Warne replaced into better. form of wicket... pah, heavily it particularly is a sort. on the 2nd Brian Lara has greater runs than all different Cricketers (till Tendulkar overtakes him). Does it make him the main effectual statistically, yeah. Does it make him the main effectual ever, no i don't think of so. Figures could be deceptive. Murali has by no ability had super sauces against the precise communities yet has terrorised the tail end of minnows. Warne terrorised many of the greats of the recreation and is respected for bowling between the toughest styles of delivery. Murali greater controversies??? No way, Murali has been a gentleman of the recreation, his action has been puzzled yet via ability of a gadget of an umpire (looked like !!oz.!! then did not I) and one in each of his lackeys. severe hair and parker did greater injury in cricket than anybody else, this is my umpire rant over. warne has been a magnet for controversy.

Most probably he wont. Since shane warne is not there in aussie team. They wont be daring to prepare spinner friendly pitches for this series.
It needs a real hard effort with some extra ordinary luck for murali to break that record.
