The letters after a car's name are generally a load of nonsense.
Originally GT meant gran tourismo - Italian for a big sports car. GL meant grande luxe - French for a big luxury car. Then the car manufacturers started putting S on the end for speciale and X for extra to suggest these models were even better. I've got a 206GTX and anything less like a gran tourismo extra speciale you couldn't imagine.
So XS presumably stands for extra special and the i on the end is because it's fuel injection. What's more you can drive it down to Tescos and get the shopping.
